My boyfriend and I seem to lack creativity in the date category! What are some fun or cool date ideas that you have…. excluding the traditional dinner & movie? We get together all different nights of the week/weekend, mostly evenings but sometimes late nights. Any suggestions on how to keep having fun together?

We’re 24/28 … live in Michigan — where it’s getting cold! Wayne/Auburn Hills areas.
Thanks

What me and my boyfriend do is if either of us have a ‘meh, another dinner and a movie’ feeling before a date, we immediately cancel it. We’ll stay in and do other boring yet enjoyable things which cost less money to do and put the money we would have spent aside. Depending on how much we get by the next university holiday I get off we’ll choose a big date like a day at a theme park or a weekend break in Paris (I’m lucky enough to live in London so cheap to get across there). If we make an effort on a DVD-night in it ends up being super cosy. Chocolate fondue pots with marshmallows and hot chocolate. We also like cooking for each other now and then
Sometimes just a change of scene is an adventure so find a cheap bed and breakfast in another city and have an explore there. Have a formal games night with forfeits for losing (the loser has to see three movies in a row that the other person wants to watch, something like that). Card games and board games are a great substitute for drinking games as well, for example in monopoly for every £100 you spend/lose you drink a finger’s width of your drink and for every £100 you make you nominate someone else to do the drinking. You can also buy adult board games that are a lot of fun and take up hours. ‘Monogamy’ is a good one, it lets you get to talk to each other and get to know each other better too.
Anything in your city that’s considered touristy is generally good date material and anything considered childish will also result in giggles. Zoo, ice-rink, bowling, laser quest. You might feel self conscious going ice-skating or something but leaving your comfort zone is the best way to beat boredom
I don’t know your area at all but is there some sort of swimming pool complex near you? We have one where I love going with my boyfriend, challenge each other through the pool’s obstacle courses or hang out in the jacuzzis.
What about going to a bar/club? I’m bored of clubbing too in a general way but now and then going out dancing really boosts me up. Have fun.
