   Make him some heart sugar cookies:

   Put them in a cute gift box. We got a really cute material one at Hallmark for 6 bucks. We got matching tissue paper. We folded a sheet in half longwise and put in the box so half stuckout. We put the cookies )that were decorated and let sit so the frosting has hardened )in the box. Then fold the tissue paper up over. This box had a material tie. It was so cute. We also used a decorating tip and wrote on a few of them.

   You can make this very cheaply and easily. Buy the store brand sugar cookie dough already done, like 2.25 each. We bought 2. Make sure it gets really cold before rolling it out and use flour so it does not stick. Use a small heart cookie cutter. We bought the palm size ones and the cookies got huge in the oven so get the smaller one. You can put the cookies in a super cute gift bag from the dollar store and they sell tissue paper there too. Use vanilla frosting from the store. Just seperate it and add food color to make different colors.

   Second idea:
   Make a cookie cake:

   Sample:

   I would make a big red heart in the middle leaving a 1.5 inch of cookie, outline it using white star decorating tip, not stars but a steady line. Make some roses on the inner left side of heart. Put brown around whatever cookie is showing to the edge in a swirl using the large star tip. Then using the writing tip write Sarah and Thomas 9-18-2006 (your anniversary date).
