I will soon be telling one of my good friends how I feel about him, but we will be going back to college in August at two separate schools. The schools, however, are close together (1.5 hours) and both in the same state.

Hmm it depends on how strong you think the relationship/bond will be between you two. However, your “long distance relationship” doesnt seem THAT far since you’re still 1.5 hours away from him and can probably see him once every two weeks or so.

nothing at all, me and my gf will be going to separate colleges this fall, just remember distance makes the heart grow fonder, plus it would be better, so that way you won’t get sick of each other so quickly.

I’ll be honest, your education and career should be foremost on the priority list. However, you can start dating this guy with the understanding that it’s not an exclusive serious relationship, that way you two can remain friends (with benefits if you desire)
Likely, you both will meet that special someone who’s at or near the college that you’re going to…it’s just so much easier to have a social life with someone who’s right there for you…just my 2cts
Best wishes
